Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, hosted a Christmas party for children in Krowor Constituency, spreading joy and cheer to the community. As a strong advocate for women’s and children’s rights, Minister Lartey has consistently demonstrated her commitment to empowering vulnerable groups.

The event featured fun activities, games, and gifts for the children, aligning with the Minister’s vision of creating empowered communities. Her efforts have made a positive impact on Krowor, and this Christmas celebration is another example of her dedication to the constituency.

Speaking in an interview at the event, the Minister described Christmas as a season of love, compassion, and togetherness, noting that it has become a tradition for her to use the period each year to connect meaningfully with her constituents.
“We are in the festive season of love and compassion, so every year I find at least one activity to do with my constituents,” she said. “I usually have activities for persons with disabilities, widows, the aged, and children. Normally, the children come last, but this season we decided to start with them first.”

She explained that the gathering was deliberately designed to bring children from different backgrounds together, regardless of their circumstances at home. According to her, while the festive season is often associated with family feasts and celebrations, not every household is able to fully enjoy the season.
“During this period, families come together and we assume everyone has something to eat, but that is not the case for every home,” she noted. “So I like to bring those who have enjoyed and those who are yet to enjoy together, so all of us can have a bite.”

Beyond the food and fun, the Minister emphasized the deeper values behind the event. She said the party was an opportunity for the children to fellowship, build friendships, and see one another as brothers and sisters within the same community. She also used the occasion to speak to the children about love, reminding them that the birth of Christ represents love and unity.
“It’s about celebrating the children, letting them fraternize, enjoy their holidays together, break bread, and share drinks,” she added. “We also talk to them about loving one another, because that is why Christ was born for us.”

The Christmas children’s party once again highlighted Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey’s commitment to inclusive community engagement, compassion, and ensuring that no one especially children is left out during the season of joy.
