Black Stars coach Otto Addo will announce his final squad for the 2026 World Cup on June 1, 2026. Ghana has been drawn in Group I alongside Panama, England, and Croatia for the tournament, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that all qualified teams, including Ghana, are mandated by FIFA to announce their provisional squad on April 11, 2026, while the final squad for the tournament must be announced by June 1, 2026.
Ghana’s campaign will kick off against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, followed by a match against England on June 23 in Boston, and conclude with a match against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia. This will be Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance, having previously competed in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022.
GFA Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, emphasized that every Ghanaian player with a strong performance will be considered for selection, regardless of where they play.
“Every Ghanaian player with a strong performance is closely monitored, and regardless of where they play, they will be given a call-up,” he assured.
The Black Stars aim to leverage this open selection process to build a competitive squad capable of challenging in a group stacked with heavyweights. Coach Addo’s final 26-man roster will be pivotal, blending experience from past campaigns with emerging talents hungry to make their mark on football’s grandest stage.
