Asante Kotoko, one of Ghana’s top football clubs, suffered a shock defeat to Hohoe United in a recent match, sparking frustration from coach Prosper Narteh Ogbonnaya, popularly known as Zito.
Zito expressed his disappointment, stating that his team was “tactically indecisive” and failed to implement their game plan effectively. The loss has raised concerns about Kotoko’s performance in the league.
“I’m disappointed in our first-half performance. I wasn’t happy at all. They had a good free kick and it resulted in a goal. There’s nothing wrong with the free kick, but we didn’t play well,” he said.
To be honest, we were tactically indecisive. We create chances all the time but we don’t score. Most of our training lately has been about goal scoring. Why do we wait until we concede before we start playing?\

Zito ended by apologising to the club’s supporters and promised improvements.
“I’m very sorry. I want to apologise to the supporters. We’ll go back to the drawing board and make the necessary amendments.”
The defeat leaves Kotoko under pressure as their inconsistency continues in the title race.
