The Bolgatanga Technical Institute in Ghana has recalled its students, with male students required to pay a GH¢1,000 damage fee. The institute had been closed due to student unrest, and the recall aims to resume academic activities.

The Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu, announced the decision after a meeting with stakeholders, including the Regional Security Council and the school’s management. The damage fee is specifically for male students, as investigations suggest they were involved in the unrest.
The institute’s infrastructure and facilities were damaged during the unrest, and the management is seeking compensation for repairs. The Regional Minister urged students to take responsibility for their actions and cooperate with the authorities to ensure a peaceful resolution.

The situation highlights concerns about student behavior and safety in Ghana’s educational institutions.
