The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reaffirmed that the Ghana House Architectural Design Competition will continue as planned, following the Ministry’s earlier announcement on November 5 regarding the initiative. The competition forms part of the government’s Strategic Transition from Renting to Infrastructure Development (STRIDE), aimed at developing purpose-built diplomatic facilities that reflect Ghana’s identity and architectural excellence.
The Ministry has therefore issued an update on the launch of the Ghana House Architectural Design Competition.
In a statement, it said participation is open exclusively to architects registered with the Architects Registration Council (ARC). To ensure broad awareness, competition notifications will be sent directly to all architects on the ARC register.
The Ministry also confirmed that architecture students may take part, provided they commit to partnering with registered firms should their submissions win.
According to the Ministry, the competition remains on schedule and is expected to conclude by December 30, 2025. Some minor adjustments have been made to allow for expanded notifications and to ensure all eligible participants are reached.
The statement emphasized that strict anonymity and transparent jury procedures will be enforced throughout the process to uphold fairness, prevent conflicts of interest, and maintain the integrity of the competition.
The Ministry said it remains committed to ensuring the integrity of the competition through a fair, transparent, and inclusive process. This initiative seeks to establish purpose-built, state-owned diplomatic facilities that reflect Ghana’s identity, values, and architectural excellence.
