The 2025 School Placement Portal has officially opened today, September 1, 2025, for candidates who sat for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). The portal will remain accessible until Sunday, September 8, 2025, allowing candidates to verify their details before final placements are released.
According to Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), the placement process has already begun, and candidates can review their school choices, biodata, and other relevant information on the portal. The placement will be matched against available vacancies in second-cycle institutions, and the process is expected to take no more than three weeks.
Candidates will have from September 1 to September 8, 2025, to review and confirm their school choices. The final placement exercise is scheduled to take place on September 17, 2025. First-year senior high school students will report to their new schools from October 18 to 20, 2025.
The GES has assured stakeholders of a fair and transparent system, emphasizing that placement will be merit-based and not influenced by third parties. Candidates are advised to report any fraudulent activities directly through the official portal or at Resolution Centres. With the inclusion of private schools in the placement system, students now have more options to choose from, making the process more inclusive and flexible.
