The 2024 Best Fish Farmer in the National Farmers’ Day celebration of the year in question, Ebenezer Nyagble Dzikunu and five others have giving a shocking revelation saying government is yet to give them awards due them. In an exclusive interview, Mr. Nyagble Dzikunu said his prime award was a tractor but the sector minister is yet to hand that machine to him. Same happens to be the case with five other farming colleagues in related categories.

He said on winning the awards in December 2024, organizers of the event told the six of them that what was due them would be delivered sooner than later. On February 12, this year, they were called for the items. Upon arrival, they were shown waybill and chases number of cars and told that final documentations would have to be done before delivery and since then non of them had heard from the ministry.

According to Mr. Nyagble Dzikunu the sector minister is said to question why the current administration would bare the burden of previous government? Meanwhile, the same minister had paid working visit to his(Ebenezer Nyagble Dzikunu ) farm in the Volta region.
Efforts to engage the minister continue to yield no results and in less than a month to another edition of the National Farmers Awards, they only have certificate of 2024 Best Fish Farmers.

The disappointed fish farmers include but not limited to Victoria Atsa-National Best Fish Processor of Year, Christopher Ackon-National Best Marine Fisherman.
